Compare the stock Waizowl OGM Cloud XS mouse skates with the Magic Ice replacement skates to see which glide suits your gaming style.
Quick answer
For a smoother, lower-friction glide, swap to Magic Ice replacement skates. If you prefer the stock feel and don't want to spend extra, the original skates on the Waizowl OGM Cloud XS are adequate for most gamers.
Stock vs. Replacement: What Changes
The Waizowl OGM Cloud XS comes with factory-installed mouse skates that offer a balanced glide out of the box. They work well for general use but may feel slightly rough or inconsistent over time, especially on cloth pads.
Magic Ice skates are precision-manufactured replacement skates designed to reduce friction and provide a smoother, more controlled glide. Their rounded edges help prevent scratching on mousepads, which is a common issue with worn or sharp-edged stock skates.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Stock skates on Waizowl OGM Cloud XS: Adequate out-of-the-box glide. Suitable for casual or competitive use, but may feel less smooth over time and can develop rough edges that scratch your mousepad.
- Magic Ice replacement skates: Premium replacement skates offering a smoother, lower-friction glide. Precision manufacturing and rounded edges reduce scratching and improve control. Priced at USD 5.67 (down from USD 7.99). Best value if you want a glide upgrade without buying a new mouse.
- Installation effort: Replacing skates requires careful removal of old adhesive and clean application of the new skates. It's a simple DIY job, but take your time to avoid misalignment. Allow 10-15 minutes for a clean installation.
